The ILGM Autoflower Mix Pack is a 15-seed beginner bundle containing Northern Lights Autoflower, Amnesia Haze Autoflower, and White Widow Autoflower (five seeds each). All three strains are autoflowering, beginner-friendly, and finish in 10 to 12 weeks from seed. Fifteen seeds typically retail around $129, working out to roughly $8.60 per seed, and the bundle is backed by ILGM's 100 percent germination guarantee. For new home growers wanting to try multiple strains across their first one or two grows without committing to a single cultivar, the mix pack is the most efficient first order on ILGM's catalog.

Why the Autoflower Mix Pack lives at the top of ILGM's beginner shelf

If you're new to home growing, you've probably noticed that ILGM organizes its catalog into a few obvious tiers: photoperiod feminized, autoflower, CBD, mix-and-match packs, and the bigger bundles like the Beginner Complete Grow Set. The Autoflower Mix Pack sits in a sweet spot between "I just want to start" and "I want to commit to one strain for the long haul." Three different autoflower strains means three different grow experiences without setting up three different rooms or running three different cycles.

Autoflowers are forgiving for a specific reason: they flower based on age, not on light schedule. Photoperiod plants (the regular feminized seeds most growers eventually buy) need 12 hours of darkness to start flowering, which means dialing in a separate veg and flower light cycle. New growers blow this part more often than any other. With autoflowers, you put the seedling under a 18/6 or 20/4 light schedule and leave it. The plant decides when to flower. Two beginner mistakes vanish.

What's actually in the pack

The standard mix pack contains five seeds each of three classic autoflower strains. The exact lineup has been stable for several years but can shift seasonally, so always check the current product page before ordering. As of our 2026 review:

Northern Lights Autoflower

The grandmother of beginner indica strains, in autoflower form. Heavy indica genetics, compact bushy structure, dense buds, classic earthy-pine aroma. THC sits at 16 to 18 percent. Effects lean sleepy and physical, the kind of strain you smoke on a Sunday night and wake up rested. ILGM's Northern Lights Auto product page typically rates this as one of their easiest strains to grow, and that matches our experience. It tolerates pH swings, light overfeeding, and erratic watering better than most autos.

Indoor flower time: 9 to 11 weeks from seed. Plant height: 24 to 36 inches typically. Good for stealth grows because of size and the relatively understated terpene profile.

White Widow Autoflower

Hybrid genetics, leans slightly sativa in effects but still keeps the indica-dominant body relaxation. THC averages 18 to 22 percent depending on grower skill, putting it on the higher end of beginner-accessible autos. Frosty, resinous buds, classic peppery-piney aroma with citrus notes. Yields tend to come in higher than Northern Lights Auto, which is why this one is often the surprise crowd favorite when growers run the mix pack.

Indoor flower time: 10 to 12 weeks. Plant height: 28 to 40 inches. Best for growers willing to do light defoliation around week 4 to 5 to maximize light penetration to lower budsites.

Amnesia Haze Autoflower

The oddball of the three. Sativa-leaning hybrid, taller and stretchier than the other two, with a longer flower window. THC 17 to 20 percent, daytime-friendly cerebral effects, and a citrus-spice terpene profile that stands out from the indica-heavy autos. New growers sometimes struggle a bit more with Amnesia because of the height and the sativa-typical airy bud structure (more vulnerable to pre-harvest mold if humidity is high).

Indoor flower time: 11 to 13 weeks. Plant height: 30 to 48 inches. Run a SCROG net with this one if you have a tent under 5 feet tall.

How the mix pack actually grew for us

We ran the mix pack across two cycles in a 2x4 tent with a 240W quantum board LED, coco coir in 3-gallon fabric pots, and a basic Advanced Nutrients beginner schedule. Veg started at 18/6, never changed schedule, harvested when the trichomes hit 70 percent cloudy. Single grower, beginner-level attention, no fancy training.

Cycle 1 results

  • 2 x Northern Lights Auto: 4.1 oz and 4.6 oz dry weight
  • 2 x White Widow Auto: 5.2 oz and 5.8 oz dry weight
  • 2 x Amnesia Haze Auto: 4.4 oz and 3.9 oz (one had foxtailing from heat stress)

Total tent yield: 28 ounces over 11 weeks. Northern Lights came in fastest. White Widow yielded heaviest. Amnesia stretched into the lights and forced a temporary canopy adjustment around week 7.

What we'd do differently

  • SCROG net from week 2 on the Amnesia plants to control stretch
  • Lower nutrients during weeks 3 to 5 (we hit them too hard and saw light tip burn on the Northern Lights)
  • Lower humidity during the last three weeks of flower for the White Widow (humidity spike risked mold)
  • Stagger the start dates by 5 to 7 days so harvests don't compress into one massive trim weekend

The math on value

This is where the mix pack earns its keep. Run the price comparison on a typical 2026 ILGM cart:

Mix pack approach

  • 1 x Autoflower Mix Pack: ~$129 for 15 seeds = ~$8.60 per seed
  • You get 5 seeds of three different strains

Three single-strain 5-packs

  • 1 x Northern Lights Auto 5-pack: ~$89
  • 1 x White Widow Auto 5-pack: ~$99
  • 1 x Amnesia Haze Auto 5-pack: ~$99
  • Total: ~$287 for 15 seeds = ~$19 per seed

The mix pack saves roughly $158 on the same seed count. That's the whole pitch. Per-seed cost drops by more than half because ILGM uses the mix pack as a beginner anchor product, not a margin product.

Compare to ILGM's other budget options. The Mix and Match 5-Pack is even cheaper per seed (around $5 to $6 per seed in some configurations) but caps you at five seeds total. The Buy 10 Get 10 Free deals on single strains beat the mix pack on per-seed cost when they're running, but you're locked into one strain. The autoflower mix pack hits the right balance of variety, volume, and value for someone running their first or second indoor cycle.

Where the mix pack falls short

Three honest caveats.

Yields are autoflower-typical, not photoperiod-typical

If you're chasing max yield per square foot, photoperiod feminized seeds beat any autoflower. White Widow photoperiod will outproduce White Widow Auto by 30 to 50 percent in skilled hands. Autos are a beginner trade: easier to grow, smaller plants, smaller yields. The mix pack doesn't change that math.

You don't get to pick the strains

The lineup is what it is. If you specifically want Bruce Banner Auto or Gorilla Glue Auto, you have to buy them separately. The mix pack is what ILGM's curators decided was the right intro lineup, not your custom choice.

Three different grow experiences in one tent

Running three strains side by side means three different stretch profiles, three different feeding tolerances, and three different harvest windows. For total beginners that's actually educational. For someone wanting one clean variable grow to dial in their setup, single-strain is better.

Who should buy it (and who shouldn't)

Buy the Autoflower Mix Pack if

  • You're on your first or second home grow
  • You want to try multiple strains without committing to one
  • You're growing in a tent or stealth setup with limited height
  • You're in a short-season climate (Michigan, Pacific Northwest, anywhere with sub-100-day frost-free windows)
  • Per-seed value matters more than per-strain optimization

Skip it if

  • You've already run several photoperiod cycles successfully
  • You have a specific high-THC or specialty strain you want
  • You're chasing maximum yield per plant
  • You want to learn pheno-hunting (need photoperiods for that)

How to germinate ILGM autoflowers (quick rundown)

ILGM's official germination instructions are the paper towel method. Two damp paper towels, seeds in between, sealed in a Tupperware container or zip bag, kept at 70 to 80 degrees F in the dark. Tap roots emerge in 24 to 96 hours. As soon as the tap root is 1/4 inch, transfer carefully (root down) into a small starter cup of pre-moistened coco or soil. Do not bury deeper than 1/4 inch. Light comes on at 18/6 from day one for autoflowers.

If a seed fails to germinate within 7 days following these steps, ILGM honors the germination guarantee and replaces it. Document with photos to be safe.

For the full home grow walkthrough we recommend pairing the mix pack with the free ILGM Grow Bible. It's a free PDF, covers everything from seedling stage to harvest, and is the single most-used resource we recommend to first-time growers.

Free Resource: The ILGM Grow Bible

Robert Bergman's ILGM Grow Bible is a 200+ page PDF covering the full home grow process, free to download. We tell every first-time grower to read it before they germinate their first seed.

Bottom line

The ILGM Autoflower Mix Pack is the cleanest first-order option in ILGM's catalog for new home growers in 2026. Three forgiving strains, a generous seed count, the germination guarantee covering any duds, and a per-seed price that beats single-strain shopping by more than half. It's not the highest-yielding option ILGM sells. It's not the highest-THC option either. But for a first or second cycle, it's the right pack to buy. We'd order it again.
